The Cantina d’Isera is a cooperative winery founded in 1907, at the time of the Habsburg Empire. Founded by the will of the area’s winegrowers, it already harvested the prized grapes of Isera’s basalt hills. Always dedicated to the production of Marzemino di Isera, the symbolic wine of the area that has found its ideal habitat in the dark basalt soil of Isera, since 2004 the Cantina di Isera has also enthusiastically dedicated itself to the production of Trento Doc in the Brut, Brut Riserva and Extra Brut versions.
About the wine
Isera 907 Dosaggio Zero is one of the most precious jewels among the Trento DOC cuvèes of the Cantina d’Isera. It comes from the blending of only Chardonnay grapes in the vineyards cultivated with the pergola and espalier system by the winegrower members on the highest hills of Isera between 500 and 600 metres above sea level. Only after a bottle ageing of at least 40 months is it ready to leave the winery. A synthesis of elegance and freshness, it represents the essence of the Chardonnay that is born on the slopes of these mountains.
Winemaking
Terrain composed of glacial deposits of different origin:- mainly carbonate with local basaltic and basaltic contributions. The soil tends to be deep, with a loamy-sandy texture, calcareous and with skeletal- consisting mainly of predominantly calcareous gravels and sands. The texture is between frank and frank-sandy.Manual grape harvest in mid-September. White vinification with soft pressing of the grapes and subsequent fermentation in steel and barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation. Second fermentation in the bottle takes place after at least six months of ageing on the lees in the cellar. This is followed by a long maturation on the lees in the bottle. The topping up is done without the use of sugar, respecting the character and expression of this cuvèe as much as possible.
